Hey Guys,
Just want to say thank you for hanging in there on the draft, it was a long process but we are done! It took 1 month
Just a couple items of business before we get going on the first season!
1. We finished our draft earlier than anticipated and we are capable of starting the scoring season later this week with the opening series in Japan between the Mariners and the A's. I would like to include this series and if anybody is opposed to the idea let me know. The way the scoring is set up on fantrax currently is to combine the two games between the Mariners and A's with the first weekend starting March 28-March 31st to make up period one. Period 2 will start Monday April 1st and run through Sunday April 7th. Period 1 will be shortened as is, so the addition of 2 games will not matter much. Min/Max pitching starts will be prorated for the shorter week.
2. Many of you have illegal rosters. Either you have guys in minors slots that are ineligible to be in the minors (see league rules on proboards) or you have guys you were planning on putting on the DL but they are not eligible yet because real teams have not placed players on the DL as they are still in spring training. Because of this limitation I will be allowing a grace period until the 28th for owners to move players that are hurt (indicated by a red flag on fantrax) to the DL even if the Major league team has not placed them on the official DL yet. This means you can move the player now, but on the 28th if the player is not officially on the DL your roster will be illegal and scoring will not count. Please don't abuse this and only place players that you are expecting to be DL'd on the list.
3. Fantrax waivers, add/drop is open to owners. You can now release players to get back down to roster restrictions if need be. Players that were not drafted but are eligible Major league players are now on waivers. The waiver period is two days. REMEMBER Minor league players can not be added through fantrax free agency. Only players that are currently on a MLB 25 man roster or exceed the minors limits (130 ABs, 50.0 IP) can be added, If you have any questions regarding this let me know.
4. I am glad everybody is sticking around to compete, and I hope you are all in for the long haul as I am. I think we have a good group of owners. I would like to keep the Groupme chat up and running for the league as I think it helps us get to know one another and allows for easy communication. I am not the police or your mothers but I would like to reiterate to be respectful on the chat. We all have arguments and disagree on things and that is fun, but there is an acceptable use of the chat and unacceptable use obviously. If you feel you will have a hard time with this let me know or stop using the chat. I don't want to have to look for replacement owners, but I want this to be a great league on all levels.
5. Also, we will be conducting the 2019 Amatuer Draft on proboards as it is easier to do manually. I have updated the draft rounds with pick orders to reflect trades and created a trade board as well to keep track.
6. LETS HAVE FUN
Any questions on anything please don't hesistate to ask
Thanks!
Robin
